Rana Saad

Dr. Rana Saad was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. She is the Scientific Director of Prism Pathology in Dallas, TX, an independent molecular pathology laboratory. She is board certified in Molecular Diagnostics by the American Board of Bioanalysis.

Dr. Saad earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Agriculture from the American University of Beirut. She later received a Master of Science degree in Immunology and Microbiology from The University of Texas Medical Branch and a PhD in Immunology from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Following the completion of a fellowship in Molecular Pathology at UTSWMC, Dr. Saad joined the faculty as Assistant Director of the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory. In 2001 she was recruited to establish a molecular laboratory at Baylor University Medical Center, where she developed a comprehensive molecular testing program for hematologic, genetic and infectious diseases. In 2010 she joined Med Fusion Laboratories as the director of the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory. In 2012, she founded Prism Pathology where she continues to serve as the Scientific Director.

Dr. Saad served as the President of the North Texas Society of Pathology from 2011 to 2012 and is an active member of the Association for Molecular Pathology. She is also the former President of the WAAAUB North Texas-Dallas chapter. During her tenure, she revitalized the chapter and strengthened its effort to support fundraising, the mission of the American University of Beirut and its commitment to education in Lebanon and throughout the Middle East.

Dr. Saad is married to Joe Saad, MD, and together have two sons, Michael and Daniel. She enjoys playing tennis and traveling. She is active in the community and the philanthropic activities of the Methodist Health System.
